About the DCFSA
The DCFSA, administered by Vita, lets you set aside tax-free money to pay for expenses like daycare for your child(ren) under the age of 13, disabled spouse or your elderly parents.
How It Works
- Eligible expenses go beyond child care and include before and after school care programs, preschool, and summer day camps for children under age 13.
- You can use this account for daycare for a spouse or other adult dependent who lives with you and is physically or mentally incapable of self-care.
- You can set aside up to $5,000 annually per household, or up to $2,500 annually if you are married and filing single.
- Plan carefully! DCFSA money must be used for expenses incurred during the same plan year. Unspent funds will be forfeited.
Example of eligible expenses:
- Licensed nursery schools
- Qualified childcare centers
- Adult daycare facilities
- After school programs
- Summer camps for dependents under age 13
- Preschool tuition
